Will I lose my email if I transfer or connect my domain?
No! Your email (like Google Workspace or Microsoft 365) will keep working normally. We're careful to preserve your email settings during any domain changes. Just let us know what email service you use and we'll make sure nothing gets interrupted.
What if I don't know where my domain is?
That's okay. It happens more often than you'd think! We can help you figure out where your domain is registered. Usually it's wherever you get renewal emails from (GoDaddy, Namecheap, Google, etc.). If you're not sure, just give us your domain name and we'll look it up for you.
How long does my domain last? Do I have to renew it?
Domains are typically renewed annually (every year). If you transfer your domain to us, we handle renewals automatically so you never have to worry about it expiring. If you keep your domain at your current registrar, you'll need to make sure you renew it each year; we'll remind you if it's getting close to expiration.
What's an "EPP code" or "auth code"?
It's like a password for transferring your domain; proves you're the owner. If you choose to transfer your domain to us, you'll need to get this code from your current registrar (they usually have a button to reveal it in your account settings). It's typically a random string of letters and numbers. We'll walk you through exactly how to find it.
Why does transfer take 5-7 days?
This is a security measure required by ICANN (the organization that manages domains worldwide). The waiting period gives you time to cancel the transfer if it wasn't authorized. Most transfers complete faster, but we quote 5-7 days to be safe. Your website continues working normally during this time.
Can I keep my domain if I cancel WebEaze?
Absolutely. Your domain is yours, period. If you ever decide to leave WebEaze, we'll help you transfer your domain to another provider or point it to a different website. We never hold domains hostage.
What domains do you recommend?
For most businesses, we recommend .com if available because it's the most recognizable and trustworthy. If your ideal .com is taken, we might suggest alternatives like .co, .io, or industry-specific options like .law or .shop. We'll always give you a few options to choose from.
