Google reviews are one of the strongest signals for local search rankings and customer trust. Here's how to get more of them consistently.
The simplest method: just ask
Most customers who had a great experience are happy to leave a review — they just need a nudge. The best time to ask is right after a job is done or a service is delivered, when the experience is fresh.
Make it easy
Share a direct link to your Google review page so customers don't have to search. You can get your link from your Google Business Profile dashboard. Add it to:
- Follow-up emails or text messages after a service
- Your email signature
- A card or flyer you hand to customers in person
- Your website (we can add a review button)
What not to do
- Don't offer incentives (discounts, gifts) in exchange for reviews — this violates Google's policies
- Don't ask for reviews in bulk from people who aren't real customers
- Don't ask for reviews on-site using a business device — Google may filter these out
Tip: Responding to your existing reviews — positive and negative — also signals to Google that your business is active and engaged.
