Posting regularly on your Google Business Profile (GBP) is a simple way to stay active in Google's eyes and give potential customers a reason to choose you. Here's what works well.
What to post
- Promotions or offers: Any seasonal deals, discounts, or limited-time offers. Google has a dedicated "Offer" post type for these.
- New services or products: Announce when you add something new to your lineup.
- Before and after photos: Especially effective for trades, beauty, cleaning, auto, and similar businesses.
- Events: If you're hosting or attending something, use the Event post type.
- Tips or helpful info: Short, useful posts related to your industry keep your profile looking active and knowledgeable.
- Business updates: Changed hours, moved locations, new staff β anything relevant to customers.
How often should I post?
Aim for at least once a week if possible. Even once or twice a month is better than nothing. Posts expire after 7 days by default (except Events and Offers), so consistency matters more than volume.
