If your Google listing shows outdated or incorrect information, it can send customers to the wrong location, show closed hours, or list a number that no longer works. Here is how to fix it.

If you have access to your Google Business Profile

Log in at business.google.com. From your profile dashboard, click "Edit profile" and update the information directly. Changes typically appear on Google within a few hours to a few days.

Fields you can update yourself:

  • Business hours (including holiday hours)
  • Phone number
  • Address or service area
  • Website URL
  • Business description and category

If your edits aren't saving or keep reverting

Google sometimes allows users to suggest edits to business listings, and those suggestions can override your own information. If changes you made were reversed, you may have a user edit pending. Check the "Suggestions" section in your profile dashboard and reject any incorrect ones. If the problem continues, submit a request and we'll investigate.

If you don't have access to your Google Business Profile

You'll need to claim and verify your listing first. Go to google.com/business and search for your business. If it appears as "unclaimed," click it and follow the verification steps. Verification usually takes a few days and involves a phone call or postcard from Google.

If you're on the Growth plan and we manage your GBP, submit a request with the correct information and we'll make the update for you.

Important: Make sure your business name, address, and phone number are identical across your website, Google listing, and any other directories. Inconsistencies can hurt your local search rankings.
