Basic animations are part of most new builds we deliver. More complex motion effects depend on your platform and what you're asking for.
What is typically included
On a standard new build, you can expect:
- Hover effects on buttons and links
- Subtle fade-in or slide-in effects as sections enter the viewport on scroll
- Smooth transitions between interactive states
These are applied as part of the design and doesn't require a separate request.
What counts as additional scope
More involved animation requests go beyond a standard build and may require additional scope. Examples include:
- Custom animated hero sections or loading screens
- Timeline or step-by-step animated sequences
- Adding complex animations to an existing site that was not built with them
If your request falls into this category, check the Fee Schedule to see if a project tier covers it, or contact us to discuss.
Platform notes
- GitHub Pages: Full control over CSS and JavaScript animations.
- Wix and Squarespace: Both have built-in animation settings for sections and elements. Custom animations beyond the platform tools aren't supported.
- WordPress: Depends on the theme. Many themes include scroll animation settings. Custom animation beyond the theme requires code-level work.
