Basic animations are part of most new builds we deliver. More complex motion effects depend on your platform and what you're asking for.

What is typically included

On a standard new build, you can expect:

  • Hover effects on buttons and links
  • Subtle fade-in or slide-in effects as sections enter the viewport on scroll
  • Smooth transitions between interactive states

These are applied as part of the design and doesn't require a separate request.

What counts as additional scope

More involved animation requests go beyond a standard build and may require additional scope. Examples include:

  • Custom animated hero sections or loading screens
  • Timeline or step-by-step animated sequences
  • Adding complex animations to an existing site that was not built with them

If your request falls into this category, check the Fee Schedule to see if a project tier covers it, or contact us to discuss.

Platform notes

  • GitHub Pages: Full control over CSS and JavaScript animations.
  • Wix and Squarespace: Both have built-in animation settings for sections and elements. Custom animations beyond the platform tools aren't supported.
  • WordPress: Depends on the theme. Many themes include scroll animation settings. Custom animation beyond the theme requires code-level work.
