A clear request means fewer follow-up questions and faster turnaround. You don't need to be technical, just tell us what you want to happen and where.
The basics of a good request
Every update request should answer three things:
- Where does the change go? Mention the page and section. For example: "on the About page, in the team section" or "in the footer, next to the phone number."
- What needs to change? Describe what's there now and what you want instead. For example: "Change the heading from 'Our Services' to 'What We Do'."
- Any specifics? If order, wording, or style matters, say so. Don't assume we'll guess the right version.
Examples of good requests
- "On the homepage, update the hero heading to say 'Trusted by Tampa Families Since 2010'. Keep the subheading as-is."
- "Replace the About photo with the attached image. It should go in the same spot as the current photo."
- "Add a new service card after 'Window Cleaning' called 'Gutter Cleaning'. Use the same layout as the others. I'll write the description below."
- "The phone number in the footer says 555-000-0000, please update it to 813-555-1234."
Examples of requests that slow things down
- "Can you update my site?" - Too vague. What page, what section, what change?
- "Make it look better." - We need direction. Better how? Different font, more spacing, new photo?
- "Fix the thing on the contact page." - What thing? An error, a layout issue, a typo?
It's always okay to send a rough idea and we'll ask a follow-up if needed. But the more specific you are, the faster it gets done.
Attaching files
If you're sending a new image, document, or logo, attach it directly to the request. Include a note about where it goes and what it replaces. For example: "Attached is the new team headshot for Sarah. Replace her current photo on the Team page."
Multiple changes in one request
It's fine to include several updates in one request We just recommend you to organize them. Here's an example:
- On the homepage, update the hero heading to say 'Trusted by Tampa Families Since 2010'. Keep the subheading as-is.
- Replace the About photo with the attached image. It should go in the same spot as the current photo.
- Add a new service card after 'Window Cleaning' called 'Gutter Cleaning'. Use the same layout as the others. I'll write the description below.
