If your payment doesn't go through, your plan isn't cancelled immediately. We'll retry processing it again a few times over the next several days. You will receive an email from Stripe and us notifying you of a failed payment.

Will my website go down?

Not immediately. You have 7 days from the first failed payment to satisfy payment. If it's not satisfied that period, your plan will be canceled on the next working day. At that point, your account follows the Cancellation Policy.

Change your payment method

Follow the steps in the Manage Your Plan article to update your payment information. Your payment will be processed after you update it.

Common reasons payments fail

  • Card expired: update your card in the Stripe portal
  • Insufficient funds: ensure the card has enough available balance
  • Bank blocked the charge: contact your bank and ask them to approve recurring charges from Stripe
  • Card number changed: happens after a bank issues a replacement card

Will I be charged a late fee?

Life happens. You won't be charged a late fee, and your plan isn't canceled immediately. Your plan continues once payment is satisfied.

Note: A failed payment doesn't change your billing date. For example, if your payment failed on August 1st and it hasn't been resolved until August 8th, your billing date still falls on September 1st.
