There are two distinct phases when it comes to making changes to your website: the build phase before launch, and the ongoing update phase after it's live. They work differently.
During the build: revision rounds
Every new website build includes up to 3 revision rounds before launch. A round works like this:
- We send you a preview link for the current draft
- You review it and send all your feedback in one message through the client portal
- We apply the changes and send you the updated draft
- Repeat up to 3 times, then you approve and we launch
Getting the most out of each round means consolidating all feedback into one submission rather than sending changes one by one. See How many revisions do I get? for more on what counts as a round and what happens if you need more.
How to give clear feedback
Good feedback gets faster results. Be specific, reference which page you're talking about, and use screenshots when something's hard to describe in words. See How do I review my draft and give feedback? for a step-by-step walkthrough.
Changes during the build
Minor changes while we're building are fine. Submit them through your client portal so nothing gets lost. Major scope changes (like adding pages or switching to a completely different design direction) may affect the timeline and could have a fee. See What if I want to make changes during the build?
After launch: unlimited updates
Once your site is live, revision rounds are no longer a thing. You can request changes at any time through the client portal and there's no limit on updates. Most changes are completed within 1 to 3 business days. See How to request website changes for what to expect.
