When you cancel, not everything leaves with you automatically. Here is a clear breakdown of what you own, what we retain, and what requires action on your part.
What you own and can always take
- Your content: Any text, images, logos, and brand assets you provided to us. These are yours and were yours from the start.
- Your domain (if you registered it yourself): If you brought your own domain to WebEaze, it remains yours. We'll disconnect it from our servers upon cancellation.
What stays with WebEaze by default
- The website design and code: The custom layouts, design work, and code we built remain WebEaze property unless transferred. You can't copy or deploy our design elsewhere without a transfer.
Transferring the site to another provider
If you want to take your website files to another host or developer, a site transfer can be arranged. A $99 transfer fee applies if your plan is under 12 months old and you haven't yet paid the equivalent of the plan's full annual value ($1,690 for Essential, $2,490 for Growth). Once either threshold is met, the transfer is free. All balances must be cleared first. See the Fee Schedule for exact amounts.
Domains registered by WebEaze
If WebEaze registered your domain on your behalf, a domain retrieval fee applies to transfer it to you. Without payment, the domain may lapse and become available to the public. See the Fee Schedule for the fee amount.
Your files after cancellation
Website files are held on our servers for a period after cancellation to allow for reactivation or export requests. After that window, files are permanently deleted and we're not responsible for data loss. See the Cancellation Policy for the exact retention timeline.
